In honor of Earth Day (April 22), Disney created and is releasing their latest film, “Earth.” It is a touching story of three animal families and their journey across the planet. The film is narrated by James Earl Jones and directed by Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield (the team that helped create “Planet Earth”). The film might not be the most thrilling one, but it seems informational and amazing nonetheless. Here’s the trailer…
So I know this movie has been on DVD for a while, however I just finally got around to watching “Doubt.” Not only is the was the film critically acclaimed, but also nominated for five Oscars, including Meryl Street for best actress and Amy Adams for best supporting actress. The movie is set in 1964 around a traditional Catholic church and school, St. Nicholas, in the Bronx. Philip Seymour Hoffman plays Father Flynn, the popular priest known for being friendly with children, especially an eighth-grade African American boy named Donald Miller. Meryl Streep, the principal of St. Nicholas Catholic school and Amy Adams, a teacher at the school notice an odd relationship between the priest and Donald. The two nuns have such intense suspicions that drastic action finally takes place within the church.
Overall, I thought this movie was both attention grabbing and fascinating to the point of disgust. I highly recommend renting the movie and I will probably end up watching it again myself. Check out the trailer if you haven’t seen it, and if you have, let us know what you thought about it.

If this isn’t a sign of the economy crisis, I don’t know what is. Itunes has hiked many of its popular songs prices up 30%. This means many songs are now $1.29! Who can afford those things? Apparently, less popular songs are now $.69 and moderately popular songs are still $.99. Regardless, most people are buying the new stuff. I don’t know about you, but I feel like this will only encourage more illegal downloading. This doesn’t seem like Itunes’ brightest idea ever, although only revenue and time will tell. What do you think?
Surprisingly, “Hannah Montana The Movie” made an estimated 34 million in the box office this weekend. Maybe it’s better than we expected…? Also a new release, “Observe and Report” ranked fourth in earnings with an estimated 11 million. I’m assuming many of you didn’t go watch Miley, but if so, what did you think?
The Black Eyed Peas quickly took the number one spot on the music charts with their latest track, “Boom Boom Pow.” Lady GaGa has finally moved into second place with her song “Poker Face.”
As for the weekend, it was dominated by Miley and I’m wondering if the popularity of the movie will subside anytime soon. During the upcoming week, “17 Again” (starring Zac Efron), “Crank Two: High Voltage,” and “State of Play” are all opening on Friday. We also have some new artists to talk about so check up daily for our new posts!
The film, “Observe and Report” is coming to theaters this Friday (April 10th)! The movie tells the story of a mall security guard, Ronnie Barnhardt (Seth Rogan) and his quest to find the man who has been flashing people around the mall. Throughout his search not only does he earn judicial credit but also finally gets to spend time with the girl of his dreams (Anna Faris). Overall the movie seems genuinely hilarious and almost a little heart warming. It’s getting good reviews as well! Check out the trailer and if you have a chance to see it, give us your opinion.
Yes, this announcement/reminder might be a little premature, however I think the diehard fans will appreciate it! The movie, “Angels and Demons” based on the novel by Dan Brown will be in theaters on May 15th. The book and movie are related to Brown’s other well-known novel/movie, “The Da Vinci Code.” Both movies star Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon and is directed by Ron Howard. Most of the movie is set in Italy, which also gives the plot a realistic spin. The film will be an action-packed adventure involving the Catholic Church and Illuminati (the secret brotherhood). If you haven’t seen or read “The Da Vinci Code,” I highly recommend it before viewing “Angels and Demons.” The official website is amazing, take a look: http://angelsanddemons.com/and make sure to check out the trailer…
