Wale (pronounced Wah-lay) is an up and coming hip-hop artist out of Washington, D.C. In his short career, Wale has already collaborated with some of hip-hop’s most well known artists. In June of 2009, Wale will be releasing his first album, titled Attention: Deficit, which features production credits from Kanye West, Mark Ronson, Just Blaze and 9th Wonder. Wale has already released his first single off the album, titled “Chillin,” featuring Lady Gaga.
Wale first caught my eye with the release of his mix tape, 100 Miles & Running, which he released for free on the Internet. The mix tape was downloaded over 60,000 times. Some tracks I am partial to are “W.A.L.E.D.A.N.C.E.” and “Smile,” featuring Lily Allen.
